MIDTOWN GREENWAY: Personal Journeys Rest Stops

Benches, signs and cast bronze shoes create five themed rest areas along a 1½ mile section of this popular regional trail. Each installation features a different aspect of journey related to historic uses along this trail and rail corridor. The rest stops consist of concrete and Corten steel benches with sculptural bronze shoes and sign posts with thought provoking questions for visitors. Each site’s theme is based on community input and represents a historic aspect of journeys made by neighborhood residents. Bronze shoes were cast from shoes donated by the community. In collaboration with Teri Kwant.
