PATHWAY TO PEACE

A series of six sculptural cairns along a ½ mile route creating a gateway/wayfinding route connecting Lyndale Farmstead Park with Lake Harriet Park Peace Garden. Inscribed in each stone sculpture are words collected from neighborhood residents on the meaning of peace.  In collaboration with Teri Kwant.

Client: City of Minneapolis Public Art Program and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota between Lyndale Farmstead Park and Lake Harriet Peace Gardens

Materials: Limestone bases with various stones for the cairns (traditional way finding method), stainless steel pins and concrete footings 

 

Size: Five sculptures 2’ x 2’ x 5’ and one sculpture 3’ x 6’ x 3’ along a 1/2 mile long sculpture corridor
